COERR and Enfants du Mekong Staff visit Thai Children

Thanks to a France-based organization, Enfants du Mekhong and their Children Sponsorship Program, that as many as 150 poor children have been sponsored by individuals in France. Under the program each of the sponsored children receives a monthly scholarship funds which the student will spend for educational purposes and other needs. The number of children receiving sponsorship funds is increasing every year from 41 children in 2005 to 150 children in 2011.

Ms. Viveka and Ms. Steve, staff from Enfants du Mekong Bangkok Office, visited a bunker
at Khlong Wah school located close to the border with Cambodia. The bunker was designed to protect the schoolchildren from the cross-border shelling during the Thai-Cambodian border clashes early this year.
